SKIN CANCER SCREENING

The sun is our friend. Our body secretes happiness hormones (endorphins) if our skin absorbs enough sunlight. What a wonderful feeling sensing the warm and tingly feeling of the sun on the skin while sitting in an ice cream parlor in the summer.

It is not my intention to spoil the fun of beautiful sunny days. After all there are lotions with a SPF of 50 or more. And of course I hope that nobody would lie down in the blazing sun for hours anymore. The implications are now sufficiently known: Itching, reddened skin or sunburn, wrinkles and skin discoloration but also other kind of skin changes: Malignant changes which are only visible after time. These spots are frequently harmless but unfortunately in an increasing number of cases they are not.

The sooner dangerous skin changes are diagnosed, the better and more prosperous are the chances of a cure.

Therefore, I use a modern and reliable early diagnosis method during my skin cancer screening:

The computer based Videodermoscope

With this method, the computer based Videodermoscope, suspicious moles are enlarged 20 to 120 times the original size and photographed with a special camera. These recordings are saved to the computer. The same moles will then be monitored in the next screening. This enables a direct comparison and an objective possible change of the mole can be detected. Even the smallest aberrances are recognizable.
The Videodermoscope has proven to be safer and more precise than the conventional methods of skin cancer screening.
